Back in this post I was talking about the storage problem, and here I've put in some cheapo shelves in the closet, which helped a great deal.
A couple of weeks ago, I took the old futon in to get recycled, and today, I sold the bed! Spent the day rearranging what was the guest bedroom/gocco room. It's mostly done. I still need to move the 'drying racks' (really cheap, temporary wall mounted shelf brackets) and the room will be fully functional again, and ready to have the wall knocked out!

Open Letter to The Great Prince,
I admire your strength of character and the fortitude in living with an artist. I know it must not be easy to thrive in a situation of artistic chaos and self-inflicted deadlines that permeate an artist’s life. It always seems that an artist is never happy unless they are doing something creative. When they are not, they get bored and decided to remodel the house or at least their work space/studio. When one space of the house isn’t sufficient, they decide to take over any spare space that isn’t occupied by humans or other animals. This is the first step in the ATOTW (Artists Take Over the World) movement. Once the movement begins locally, they eventually take over the backyard (with metal or bamboo structures) and then move on to Cultural Centers, Nursing Homes and other spaces with weakened resistance. Please consider yourself forewarned. I know these types of people because I used to be one myself. After years of therapy and three interventions that can be viewed for $19.95 on pay-per-view, I am content to live in my two bedroom apartment that is overflowing with artist supplies while I sleep in one corner of the kitchen on a dog’s wee wee pad. Sincerely, Dr. Russ
Whoa, the Good Prince got a promotion!
And I'm apparently doing The Movement backwards -- I've already taken over the backyard, the local nursing home, and the Arts Center (although they don't know it yet). And I'm just now getting around to remodeling the studio.
